+I am just going to straight out brag about my kid…
Leo, Leo, Leo. So my son, Leo, 11 yr old wonder that he is, has always been an overacheiver. Straight A’s. Never gets in trouble. Always helpful. Honestly, a dream kid. Such a dream kid that secretly I get a little bit proud on the very occasional time when he misbehaves like “Yay! Leo! You disobeyed! You got in some Mischief!” I know it is ridiculous for a Mom to be happy when her kid does something bad but he is just so good all the time…which, don’t get me wrong, I am extremely and more proud of anyway.
So on Tuesday Leo received the Knight Award from his school. The Knight award is only given to three kids in the school…one from K through 2, one from 3 through 5, and one from 6 through 8th grades. So Leo is in 5th grade and was given the award for that age group for citisenship and academic excellence. I knew about it a couple of weeks ago but they like to keep it secret from the kids so I have been pretty much bursting at the seams for two weeks. So proud! The assembly was supposed to be Monday but because of rain got postponed till Tuesday which worked out so perfectly because my dad couldn’t come up from San Diego Monday but could on Tuesday so when I called him and told him it was postponed a hopped on the train. Luckily it was also Nelly’s 100th day of school project so we had an excuse for him to be here and not tip off Leo.
Anyway, Leo was so proud when he got the award and immediately asked if we could get it framed…of course Leo! My Dad took us all out for a celebratory dinner becfore hopping on the train back to San Diego.
Leo says he is going to be President so this is a good start! I am rooting since he has informed me that when he becomes President that Joe and I can live in the White House with him. Seems like posh digs. And free too. So we are into it. When he is campaigning he will have to talk about his Knight award. It might get him some extra votes
My daughter Meghan is the same! She’s also 11. Honor roll, athletic, polite. I joke and say her teachers have shrines dedicated to her.
I LOVE when she acts up!
