Well, apparently Joan Rivers had no idea how many poker players there are on this planet. Or, more likely, maybe she just thought we all play in backrooms like the white trash we are afraid to admit to anyone that we are poker players. Well, too bad for her, we are all out of the closet on that one. So, I guess maybe she must be getting some heat for her tirade against my profession the other night on The Celebrity Apprentice. She twittered today:
Poker players calm down! I was referring to one poker player as white trash, not all of them. So everybody in the poker world…CALM DOWN!
Really Joan? I think we all know that you weren’t referring to just me because it was on camera. In case anyone has any doubts about what a wide net she cast over anyone who has ever picked up a deck of cards, I refer you to the video:

Poker players or no poker players- here are what people on the “not pro Annie” boards are trying to tell you. You may be a good gamer and the respect you have gained throughout the years is deserved; but what we have seen from you on the show are true human issues with who you are as a person. You are so consumed with winning that you forget about being a decent person. Really nasty stuff, Annie. What you see as good strategy shows a mean side of you that is quite disturbing. Yeah, sure, you could win this. And then you can run around and say “Look what I did! Me Me Me!!!” But no one cares about your ego. Piers was the apprentice player America loved to hate. You’re the player we wanted to love, but ended up hating. Congratulations, Annie. Is winning truly worth being this way? I think this experience may be trying to tell you something about yourself- I hope you listen. Find the middle ground within your true passion to be sucessful. Win with grace and class, not with self-servance and scapegoating. Good luck to you.
Annie, you have played the game great. Did what needed to be done. Finish the job on the Finale! Don’t be brought down and lower yourself because of Joan’s slurs. She can’t help herself. It is what she has done all her life, and got paid for it. It is like getting paid to have Tourette’s Syndrome.:) Don’t lower yourself, you can still be tough and be a lady. Stay the course. I was impressed with your go-getter attitude and your ability to show good common sense on the tasks and do what needed to be done, at the expense of walking on other’s feet at times. i really liked joan before this and thinks she is funny but she is completely out of line and she is the one that is acting like hitler, her outbursts r personal and make her and her daughter look bad not u. I think Joan was referring to Poker Players back in her day….when they were actually seedy.
Vegas and Poker Players now have a totally different image. Joan is just an entertainer she has no idea the Apprentice is just a game.
The only problem is your objective is to have people like you and remember your name. No one will care if you(Annie) wins or not. Especially beating an old lady whom everyone likes and her daughter. Piers Morgan one and no one likes him that much. Its more important to be recognizable and liked by the American public.
Now if you were to beat Piers Morgan, that would be fun to watch.

I started watching this show REALLY liking you, now I’m shocked at how every other word out of your mouth is ‘ME ME ME.’
Is there ANYONE in this world that is as important to you as YOUSELF? You gave Brandi NO credit for the last task. But, I noted with amusement that you said on this blog “BRANDI AND I.” (I thought it was only YOU who won the task, you kept SAYING THAT OVER AND OVER.)
WHERE WAS THE CREDIT TO BRANDI (or anyone else) when you were being FILMED? It’s like you ONLY live to say HOW GREAT YOU ARE.

I feel sorry for JOAN, she’s lived a hard life and I can only HOPE I have as much energy when I’m 75! Lay off her, Annie. She screwed up.. BUT WE ALL DO! You wanted Melissa’s head out of the game and Brandi was too stupid to even SEE what move you were playing. Hence you killed two birds with one move.. Made Melissa lose focus and showed Donald that Brandi was not smart enough to see what ‘move’ you were making. You USED Brandi by being ‘buddy buddy’ with her and then crowing it’s all “ME!!!!”
GOOD MOVE.. But, if Brandi even THINKS you are a ‘FRIEND’, then she’s even more stupid than I thought.
Continued success in The Poker World. THERE it’s okay to cut throat, but it’s NOT okay to continue to go after Joan. LET IT GO! She was wrong, stop trying to destroy her. Well…Joan won for some ungodly reason. She is an evil bitch and she was only selected because she is Joan Rivers. She lost from a business stand point. Joan was picked out of respect on the name she has made for herself and not for who the real winner should of been. Annie, you are the Celebrity Apprentice.
Annie, I just want to say that I appreciated the way you played the game, and that I thought you should have won. To be honest, I will probably never watch this show again after this season because I did not appreciate the way you were treated with such disrespect. Joan Rivers preached integrity and yet she bashed you at every board meeting, and lied in the final boardroom itself, even though that is what she criticized you for. The game was so obviously rigged. The only measure that should count is objective data. You raised more money than her. Basing the “winner” on subjective criteria is too prone to manipulation i.e. cheating.

Annie, your awesome. I watched tonight to my shock & utter amazement. Donald Trump was like an egg suck dog with his tail between his legs. He bellied up to Joan. I was appalled that he didn’t have the backbone to question the truth of the matter about Joan insulting the owner of that company. She catigorically denied and lied about it, not one ounce of integrity or personal accountability, only blame and denial. It was the most pathetic display of personal favoritism I have ever seen on T.V. Donald Trump is spineless. He corrected and stopped Jesse after Jesse called Dennis stupid. Yet he allowed the outrageous and vicious assualts upon you by Joan. It was ludicrous. You outplayed her in every arena.I am done with C.A./Trump. You are in a league of your own. Just watched the finale. Eat that Annie. Strategy isn’t everything, especially in the spotlight. You may be an ace on the the table, but you’ve got an F in life skills. I had decided in the middle of the show that I know longer cared who won, because Joan had already cracked your stride. What immense satisfaction!!! You F’ed up and played personal. Your bullshit slinging made Melissa look like a saint. A big lesson to learn my dear. I hope NOW you get the point. Nobody likes a back stabbing, untrustworthy, self-absorbed, scapegoating, dirty player. Play clean, play classy and play with integrity—and win no matter what. Poker is one of the few items bringing in people to an industry that is hurting badly. What a great way to give it to the Donald!
