+Joan Rivers Tweets: Hitler commentary continues
I guess I am naive. Here is the thing. As I watch the show, The Celebrity Apprentice, there are things I regret. I see my mistakes. I blog my mistakes. I see that I misjudged certain people in terms of how they acted to my face vs what they said behind my back. That is a cardinal sin for a poker player since I am supposed to read people well. There are things I have said on that show I wish I could take back. Why am I naive? Because I assume others on the show all feel the same way. But apparently not.
The one thing I was sure of was that Joan would regret the Hitler comparison once she saw the show. She is a Jew, after all. My father is Jewish. So I figured that when she saw that, she would cringe and decide she should have kept to the despicable and 16 personalities and white trash comments. All deeply personal but not nearly as offensive as referring to Hitler (or Mussolini or comparing choosing two cupcakes to Sophie’s Choice). And yet, Joan tweeted the following yesterday:
I just compared Annie to Hitler and I feel terrible. My apologies to Hitler.
Referring once again to Godwin’s Law, I have nothing more to say.
You’re the one who has to live with yourself. Must be difficult to be so manipulative and think that you’re a good person.
First time to see the show this year, but WOW…Melissa and Joan are out the box. How rude and childish!! These two women have sunk to the lowest of lows.
Joan and Melissa both have shown their true colors.

Just watched tonight’s episode. The interesting part about this show is in the different ways people can play. Some people play very, very smart – sometimes that doesn’t make them the most popular, but they’re smart. Piers Morgan played smart. Some people play very, very sincere – and sometimes that gets them through. Trace Adkins played very, very sincere. Just from tonight’s show, I think you’re doing both – perhaps a touch more on the smart side
And I believe that Team Rivers has, alas, managed to cash in every chip of goodwill ever earned with their personal attacks and unforgivable references to Hitler. Very much agreed with you on Godwin’s Law… Not to mention that crapshow after tonight’s boardroom.
I also wanted to say I am one of “your people.” Not at anywhere near the same level, mind you, but still – a poker player (fortunate enough to have family involved in the whole Deadwood scene). And though my day job is a bit different (I teach engineering), just wanted to say that I agree with you that poker players (and blackjack players!) are some of the best people on earth!
Well, Melissa sure showed her true colors tonight.
If that were me, I’d get out of her way as fast as possible…ROFLMAO!!

I thought tonights show was fantastic and white trash was just about too good for annie yet again…Joan nailed it right on the head as far as I could see..and I dont know how they held back I would have punch annie square in her 2 faced backstabbing mouth LMFAO! to be honest i think the comments are highly inappropriate in so far as joan paralleling you to hitler annie.
however, tonight was the night that you deserved to get fired. Even though Brande was project manager, she assigned you several responsibilities and your performance was sub-standard. You bragged to Kramer when he visited that the branding was all you, the presentation etc..
had it worked out-you would have basqued in its glory–but since it failed–you should have taken the fall.
But I have to hand it to you–the least deserving person in this task–melissa got fired. She wasn’t the project manager or the lead operator here. The only argument that could be made was that from the beginning to now she was the weakest player–but since when does trump fire based on a global outlook on the game–
i am dissapointed that you didnt defend what was right–alas it is obvious that in the final two playing against melissa would have been tougher since brande is not overly intelligent.

I think everyone is just jealous of Annie. As for the 2 Rivers, well, they have serious mental issues and tonight’s episode just proves it. (I would have definitely have hit Melissa by now and knocked all of her teeth out her mouth. Just kidding.) Can you imagine being the charity that is represented by Melissa after the way she acted tonight? I bet she did not think that Donald would show her psycho behaviour on TV.

I think after tonight’s show, Annie deserves to be in the final match. She has played her cards so to speak cleverly. She has worked effectively and has raised the most money. She has also never personally attacked anyone else. My only negative is that she sometimes appears to be self promoting too much but that could be the editing. I respect Joan for her energy, age and quick wit but she was very rude to Annie and should apologize to her. She also needs to cut the cord to Melissa who behaved immaturely when she was fired.
Great job tonight. I picked Piers to win on day 1 last year and you on day 1 this year.
Things are going to get tough. If you put 20 people in a room with knives and have them start fighting then you better be able to take some cuts without breaking down.

Jealousy at its worst. Tonight’s show was a revelation about how much jealousy can eat into a persons soul. I don’t think the mother/daughter pair will have any friends in Nevada now. What a way to sabotage yourself.
Annie, you are brilliant. I’ve admired you since the all-star game you won a few years ago and I think you deserve to win. You are the most intelligent person on the show by far (though I’ll certainly give Jesse and Brande credit as well).

On the one hand, I think anyone who watches this show who’s contemplating going into business with Joan or Melissa would think twice, because they both seem so difficult to work with, Melissa acts like a high maintenance baby and runs crying to her mother over everything, and they both appear to be seriously disturbed. It’s just a game for god’s sake, grow up!
On the other hand, the Rivers women are classless, immature, overwraught, unprofessional, and bizarre, just the sort of qualities that will appeal to a significant segment of the viewing audience. They’ll probably get their own reality show deal out of this.
I liked the presentation and the concept was good, but the other team’s photographs looked much more professional. If not for that, your team might have won.
I think it’s perfectly adorable that joan’s deep moral qualms don’t stop her from appearing on a show hosted by a guy who’s owned several casinos or from taking money to play vegas. She’s a hypocrite as well as crazy.
I saw tonights episode for the first time this season. I was shocked by Joan Rivers and her daughters behavior to say the very least. Their behavior, language & the name calling was so socially unacceptable, childish, and unprofessional. If anyone ever hires them for t.v. again, I will write & complain. Annie, love it that you kept cool, calm, & did not fall to their level! You go girl!

I am so glad I found your blog. Man, I can’t even tell you how much I now HATE those River’s! You are such a cool person, a woman to aspire too. A woman who is intelligent and can outplay anyone. Women need more role models in the world like you. It is sad that the River’s have tried to play like they are somehow role models to women when they are simply idiots who comment on people’s clothes. When I saw lat nights episode and Joan attacking your profession, I yelled at the TV saying ” and what do you do Joan? You stand on a carpet and make fun of people’s clothes”. I believe this show has really shown the world who the River’s are. They do not have friends in high places because nobody really likes them. I figured, when I first watched, that they would be the big money raisers because they are supposed to know all these rich people. Good to know that people are not fooled by them. You have blown them out of the water at every turn. And you totally deserve to win.
I am really glad that you are on the show and that you are showing the world intelligent, pretty women like you are the real role models in this world. You have done so well and you have never played into their hands. Way to go!! If Trump doesn’t make you the Celebrity Apprentice, he needs his head examined. – Now it’s just time for you to get rid of Brande. Naturally, reality shows are edited for entertainment purposes, so it’s hard to tell the totality of what actually goes on, but…
…if what is being presented is even halfway accurate, I have this observation:
You are a truly masterful player at Celebrity Apprentice, as well as being a really miserable human being.

She is, by far, the most picayune lady I’ve ever seen on TV, in all my years on earth.
I cannot begin to tell you how glad I am that her TEENAGE daughter is out of the mix. Something inherently tells me it’s just NOT a good thing to have a mother and a daughter entered into the same competition. It just does NOT compute and this was clearly illustrated throughout the program, from it’s initial episode right up to the present one, bit by bit.
Melissa will probably sit at the TV watching her exit and subsequent hissyfit and have a good laugh over it. That would seem to be about her level of maturity she showed the audience last night.

What’s with Joan’s comment about poker players not having last names? I think she was so worked up that she was talking out of the other end but who could tell. In her case it smells the same no matter what end!
The Rivers are spoiled and used to getting their own way. You did conspire against Melissa Rivers and appear to be two faced. Joan Rivers calling you white trash would have been taking it too far, but I remember an episode where you referred to yourself as giving a “great b.j.”. Any woman that speaks this way in public is trashy. I’m glad you are not as disrepectful to Joan Rivers as she is to you because she is in her 70′s and you elder. My mother is this age, and they do not censor themselves. At this point there is no one left that I would like to see win.
I think you and Joan are both strong women that need to show a good example for everyone that watches your show, like my daughters (no they aren’t too young), and make up. You and Joan both did a good job at the jewelry fundraiser, but you did your job in completely different ways. You put everyone on the spot and made them bid because they were uncomfortable, whereas Joan put everyone at ease after Clint had made them feel really weird. You guys are at two completely different ends of the spectrum when it comes to personality. You know how to work people with power, and Joan works them through laughter. You are both strong women. I don’t think Joan would ever manipulate you, or anyone else, to win at that game. I think you two should make up. People say nasty things when they have been hurt.

Okay, I might not neccessarily agree with how either Rivers conducted themeselves at the end of Sunday nights episode (despite making probably one of the BEST moments in reality TV history), however I think it was a build up of angst against you.
You are perhaps the most narcissistic people I have ever seen portrayed on Television. I know it’s a reality Tv show and certain things are edited, however there is a golden nugget of truth there.

I have a friend (you that term loosely) who is very much like you; at least from the way you are porteayed on the show. She is her own biggest fan yet she doesn’t understand why a lot of people really don’t like her. Yes she has a small group of close friends who, in the general put up with her BS because deep down, she is a good person!
I am sure you are too, however it is a MASSIVE urn off to a huge percentage of the population for someone to be so self centric!
I’m sure this is a trait that has followed you since you were a child, and I do think that people can’t really change who they are. Hopefully however they can be aware of their faults and try to act in a different manner.
Perhaps you may take something from this reality show and apply it to your everyday life. I am sure you will be a much happier, less highly strung individual and people might actually like you and not be so afraid fo you!

I am not a reality show watcher, but I have been glued to this program to see what Annie will do next. She is so shrews and quick on her toes. I would hire you anyday! Poor Joan – she is so talented and is looking like a fool on this show because of her pathetic daughter. You can’t blame Joan though, there is obviously some major psychological guilt sh-t going on there. Melissa needs to stay in some major therapy to try be normal.
