We are three days into our Costa Rican vacation and the theme around here is monkeys, monkeys, monkeys! There is a monkey party every afternoon and it is pretty freaking cool! Seriously, everyday about 15 monkeys, some carrying babies on their backs, run across the master bedroom balcony, jump onto the roof below and then head for the trees. It is something to see and I wonder if people who live here are blase about it, like New Yorkers are to rats. Like if Costa Ricans came to New York City would they be sitting on the balcony of their hotels rat watching all afternoon like we have been monkey watching everyday?

We are in the middle of the Costa Rican rain forest right on the pacific ocean and this place is just killer. This is the ridiculous view from our villa:

And here is the actual beach where we all went banana boating, the kids parasailed, and I got sunburned to within an inch of my life (we are almost at the equator afterall and I am the palest human being on the planet).

Anyway, we are all having an amazing time down here. It is beautiful, relaxing and amazing family time. Today, Lucy and Maud went ziplining (I am too afraid of heights!) and tomorrow we are all touring Manuel Antonio national park.
The only sad thing is that Joe couldn’t be here because he booked CSI. This is the 5th vacation in a row he had to cancel with us because he booked a big job. If he ever is desperate for work I am going to just plan a big vacation with him! If it is big enough and complicated enough to plan and book he will land a job in a Speilberg film, I am sure of it. Can you say honeymoon?
He is so totally missing out because this is definitely one of my favorite vacations ever in one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited…It is almost serene and beautiful enough to make me not miss him…almost.

Monkeys everywhere? So is that any different from the Celebrity Apprentice or most poker tables?
Annie: I just came back from Costa Rica..and love the park. Say hi to Hotta, the houseman for where you are staying. Love the area and so did my girlfriend & kids. We big fans of yours as my son owns pokerthreads.net and he was with us in Qupepos and just love the people. Long drive from san jose… did you love the painted rocks. Well, take care and have fun.
