I am currently going through the 1500 pending comments on my site . I can’t believe the support from so many people. It is really amazing and I couldn’t have imagined that all these people would feel compelled to write in. Please be patient while I get through all the comments. In the meantime, I am asking those who feel I should have won to please visit the Refugees International site. Explore the site, educate yourself about the charity and, if you can afford it and you really think I was robbed, please donate because I am not the one harmed, the charity is.
As for the finale of the Celebrity Apprentice, I will be blogging more thoroughly on it later in the week as I process last night. In the meantime, I want to thank Mr. Trump for the way he hired Joan Rivers. In the previous 7 seasons of The Apprentice he has never done anything but pointed to the winner and said “You’re Hired.” Last night, instead, he looked at me and, after asking if I knew what he was going to say, and said, “Annie, You’re Fired.” Nice slowroll. Good game, sir.
Zeppy,
Why don’t you post your crap on Joan’s blog; oh, that’s right – you can’t – wonder why????
Ford,
I think you’ve got a little too much time on your hands.
Check out how classy Joan was on the View o the Party Planner guy – same as she was to Clint when he upset her mid season – total venom!
1500 posts on your website to 59 on Joans. I think that just shows how much support you have earned. Keep smiling, because we all know who the real winner is.
Annie, you were the true winner, and everybody knows that! Good work!
I heard Joan say on TV that she basically treated you horribly because you were a threat to her daughter in the game. It made me wonder who else was in Joan’s wake over the years. I pictured little Girl Scouts who got pummeled because maybe they sold more cookies than Melissa? “YOU LITTLE GREEN PIT VIPER, HOW DARE YOU!”
As for the Donald ~ we all knew he was a little morally challenged to begin with.
Joan did not win – it was rigged. The only objective criteria in an auction is the money raised – and she was beaten handily by Annie who was also a STAR throughout the SEASON. Trump should be ASHAMED for lying !!! Was it because Joan’s charity was the same as that run by Trump’s ex-Sister in law or was it because NBC and Mark Burnett have an upcoming show that Joan is hosting or it because Trump is shit scared of Joan – we don’t know. All we know is Annie won it FAIR and SQUARE. Only she had the Charity integrated into the Kodak frame also.
Nothing personal — It’s Just Business
CA is a “reality” show, sponsored by companies and people in a variety of ways. Ratings are everything – just like raising money for charity should have been everything.
I suspect the reason many of us feel the way we do is because we, is that we felt we got played –got cheated – watching this season and investing our time and in the end finding out the contest was not really fair.
What do you do?
Simply vote with your personal choices:
1. Vote with the remote. Next time NBC is on, find an alternative (CBS, etc). Definitely do not fall for the CA pitch next season.
2. Vote with your discretionary income. Just don’t buy Kodak. Don’t go to a Trump casino or golf resort. DO not go to a MSNBC. Research General Electric to find out what products and services they provide, then when you have a purchasing choice, just buy a competing brand or service.
3. Take a special interest in those things you did like. If you liked Annie, then start following her career — perhaps even check out out her dvds. Pull up Refugees International Website and find out more what they are about. And if you are so compelled, help them if you can.
Its all about choice. Personal choice. None of us have to watch CA because Donald says we have to watch. In fact, America’s viewing audience can collectively fire Trump. It’s so simple.
My personal choices will have no noticable impact on Kodak, NBC, GE and Trump International, one way or the other. They will all do just fine whether I spend my measly dollars with them or not.
If the viewing audience votes with their personal choices, this will matter to all involved.
Never forget the whole purpose of CA is to build brand awareness, brand indentification, and brand loyaty for the products and services associated with the show.
If you love what happened on the show, buy their products and services. If you are unhappy with what happened choose competitors.
It’s just business.
Let’s all show them we understand it’s just business, and they made a business error in thinking they could slip this one by us.
I, along with all here, believe you won. Trump caved in to the old hag due to her connection in television. Trump lost a lot of crediability. The way he ‘hired’ Joan and ‘fired’ Annie was total disrespect.
You were amazing on the show, you put a lot of work into your tasks and you faced overwhelming criticism and yet you still finished above Joan, even though the outcome was not the one it should have been in my opinion. As far as your charity goes, I think its a great charirity and I will give to it when I can. I know because of how you handled this experience and watching you play poker on tv and hearing you talk about the strategies and tactics of the game you are someone who knows how to do great things and I respect you for that, and I look up to ya and I wish you the best of luck in everything.
Kevin –
I never let another dictate how spend my time.
Not your call, pardner.
Stick to the topic or leave.
Three questions for Annie:
1. Did you realize that Trump & Joan go way back with the charity, Gods Love We Deliver?
2.Did you know about Joan’s upcoming reality show that is being produced by Mark Burnett?
3. Are they paying you off to keep quiet?
Please answer so I can stop thinking about this silly show.
You were the true winner. Trump went with the popularity vote and not the one who fought to the end and truely earned it. Joan and here daughters true colors shined. Nothing they should be too proud about.
its only appropriate that a celebrity win celebrity apprentice. there’s more gray areas in CA than in regular people apprentice which is where annie probably would have won.
Ford,
Not a call, just an intervention.
I think it shows something positive about Annie’s character to say (about Refugees International): “Explore the site, educate yourself about the charity and, if you can afford it and you really think I was robbed, please donate because I am not the one harmed, the charity is.” It is a fine charity and although some will disagree I like the fact that it helps the people of the world and not just the USA. For those who want only to donate to American charities that is fine and I wouldn’t criticize them, but they should show others the same respect to those who choose to do otherwise. I also appreciate that Annie added “…if you can afford it…” to her plea for donations. This shows that despite her ability to get wealthy friends to contribute to this worthy cause she is sensitive to the fact that most of us are regular people who might not have anything to spare.
Your right, Kevin. Thanks for your help. Have a nice day.
Ford,
ty
I will not watch Celebrity Apprentice again! Trump was totally favoring Joan the entire season. She made me so freakin’ mad! I know she is old, and good for her for being able to “keep up” But she would NEVER survive in the “Real world” of corporate America. Annie, you deserved to win, and you did a fantastic job of keeping it together after that freaky faced Joan attacked you over and over again.you have earned my respect, which is more than i can say for Joan.
How was your charity harmed!?!. Thank goodness that you had the opportunity to be on CA. It created more awareness than if you were not picked to appear on CA. Do not diss Trump on twitter, he picked you to participate. No contestant has ever been disrecpectful of Donald before ; even Omarosa. They knew that good or bad he provided the opportunity for exposure. The viewers probably can diss cause they differ from you, a contestant. Just as you said earlier when Mellisa was wrongfully fired this is a fake job with a fake “you are fired”.
How would we respond if other contestants said that their charity were harmed after being fired?
Refugees International Is Very American
Lita –
Well said. Thanks for the enlightening observation on Refugees International.
Like you I have explored the RI website, and have concluded there is nothing more American than what Refugees International is doing.
It’s in our country’s DNA to help others in true need, whether within our own borders or around the globe.
RI is very in line with the spirit of America.
Again thanks.
I can’t believe I am so mad at a TV show but I am done with the apprentice. DONE! It is obvious that you won; you destroyed Joan in every way, including the importance of the charities you played for (imho). You remained so composed during the relentless barrage of personal attacks while a lesser person like me might have made a remark about how ironic it is that Joan hates poker players yet she had surgery to make herself look like “The Joker”, only not funny. Your professionalism is amazing, I guess that’s why you are the World’s Greatest and you must truly be a fantastic person by the number of friends you had to call on. Joan, who has been alive twice as long said throughout the show that she didn’t have the contacts (friends) to step up for her, I guess deep down she know what she is. You won for your charity (now my charity too). Thanks for bringing Refugees International to my attention.
jeremy,
I think you’re right. CA is grey through and through. When you come down to it, it’s really just a very long infomercial
HERE is a question … Joan Rivers’ real name is Joan Rosenburg. That name is from her husband Edgar, who committed suicide in 1987.
Was he any relation to Julius and Ethel Rosenburg, the communist couple who was tried and convicted for treason against the United States – and executed?
Just curious. The Rosenburgs were good friends with Sylvia Bernstein, the mother of Carl Bernstein, who was one of the two reporters at the Washington Post responsible for the Watergate Scandal reporting. Carl wrote all about his parents’ involvement with the American Communist Party in his book “Loyalties”.
I’m just curious if Joan (Rivers) Rosenburg is related to them.
Thank you Annie for being such a wonderful roll model, not only as a woman but for all people. Kids, elderly, male, female who encounter such unfair name calling and public encounters from people trying to cause public humiliation as a ploy to gain power…. will learn such important strategies.
Rarely would anyone get to see such abusive display from male or female. You were awesome! But very human. You are an excellent teacher. How about a DVD for teens experiencing bullying. And a follow up for elderly and dealing with abusive adult children. Your brilliant skills could change the lives of future generations….we all need to be better “poka players” in life. Love ya Annie.
Lee….yes I have a last name
You weren’t robbed. You played the game – all season you boasted about how great you were – but in the end you couldn’t get the approval of Trump. So now you are bashing him & blaming Joan for your not winning. Typical Annie. What a sore loser! And I have a hunch that if any one of your “friends” called you and asked you to drop everything to help them, you would give them some lame excuse. I’ll bet money on it ha ha! Oh & I thought you played Brande all the way to the final 2. You knew she would never get there, but if she was by your side until the end, then of course Donald was going to pick you over her because of your record.
My wife and I watched last night and were shocked that Trump chose Joan Rivers. You were obviously a more qualified choice.
There must have been some sympathy crowd factor, but in the end – you did a great job and for those who watched the whole season. You have a strong brand.
Do good work!
Annie.. No more Trump programs for me. WHAT WAS HE THINKING? He wasn’t .. or it was all just a sham. He blew you off on every effort you tried to make a comment. He is so RUDE. You can’t even finish talking and he blows you off or Half wit is over there covering her ears. Can’t stand this woman never have. WHAT TALENT? PULEEZ. Annie you will always be a winner. You don’t have to defend yourself you SHINED. Loved the way you handled all her insults . She looked exactly like the fool she is. Keep the Faith. Judy
I have no words, how can mr. Trump point out Joan Rivers as the winner? Was he not on his own show? Will not watch the next season of the apprentice..Go Annie, you are the real winner!
FORD, DITTO!
on “Nothing Personal—It’s just Business!
I vowed not to spend and of my family $$ on any of the products associated with Trump or CA. and I love Kodak! Used to.
I am still wondering where Joan got the Kodak picture entry? I do recall the only idea Joan had were the three color choices and a guy saying what if we use boas. I don’t even think that was her idea?
No time to re-watch the recording @ the moment. Once I do I will chime in.

Annie, you actually won, all things considered.
http://www.anniewins.com
I see the baiters are still here Annie. Good job, you really got under their skin. They know it was rigged, they know you won, and now they know that the audience has overwhelmingly shown that they support you and JoanOfBark and MElissa have been exposed for the shrews that they are. So all they are left to do is come to your own site and try to start trouble. Come on MElissa, have the guts to say it to Annie’s face. Quit hiding behind annonymous posts. I love it though, so transparent! I can’t wait until your next blog Annie as I am sure they are terrified of your logic and reasoning and have already formulated a whole litany of personal attacks and insults to start slinging at you in response. Because, lets face it thats all they have. So maybe don’t even blog about CA. Maybe you should do a tribute to Johnny Carson and how wonderfully insightful he was.
Wow, I can’t believe how xenophobic some of these comments are. So just because a human being doesn’t live in America, they’re not worthy of our help? Yeah, because that makes sense.
Annie, I know I said it before, but you did great! You couldn’t have done a better job. And if you had, you probably still wouldn’t have won anyway, because the show was so obviously fixed.
Eva,(aka Melissa) Where’s the CONGRATULATION to Mommy Joan? On Joans Blog?
I was unable to find your post. This one is a fake trying to justify no traffic. Joan is a has been and she just buried her career with CA.
GaGa, What are you a baby? Do you need your Mommy?
Annie,
After watching 1/3 of this season it was clear that you were (a BIG possibility) going to make it to the finals. The question I had was who will you be facing at the finale? Then during one of the boardroom Trump asked Joan who she was going to fire, and Joan started to shake her head with tears in her eyes telling Trump not to do that to her. She said she is not that kind of a person and she will not say who she would fire. Then Trump replied to Joan (in front of everyone in the boardroom) by saying “I can never fire you Joan.” At that moment I knew if you survive to the final four, then it was going to be you and Joan at the finale (plus the drama you two had equals great TV rating).
Joan has been a power house in the entertainment industry for decades. Trump will never tarnish his friendship with Joan over you. Joan may be a bitch, but she knows way too many people in the industry. He’ll gain absolutely nothing by “hiring” you (unless he was the owner of WSOP).
Let’s recap, Trump said to Joan “I can never fire you Joan.” – Annie, you were doomed.
During the entire season, Trump never made a point (or go out of his way) to tell Joan to stop the tongue lashing towards you. The only time he did that was at the finale when he actually tell Joan to be quiet so you can finish talking. – Annie, you were doomed.
Pierce Morgan won last season becuase he raised the most money. This season Trump knew Joan can never beat you in money, so he decided to change up the rules by adding additional categories. – Annie, you were doomed.
When Joan pissed off David and he pulled the plug on the show (you got caught in the middle), Trump not once made a big deal about it. If it was someone other than Joan, OMG that person would’ve been FIRED! – Annie, you were doomed.
Finally, Trump and Joan Rivers have been friends for years. – Annie, you were doomed.
Deep down inside Trump knew he had no choice but to hire Joan. If this was the real business world, Trump would kill to have someone like you to work for him or be a part of the “Trump International.”
Not as great as you think you are, now are you? Ha Ha…stick to cards.
You are the true winner. Trump is a complete joke, he picked joan to give that old bag a bones a reason to keep kicking for a few years longer. I completely respect you and wish you would have won because you deserve it. Trump will loose the rest of his hair for this mistake, his cumb over wont last.
Chris
Trump and Joan talked with Larry King. Trump said brought up that Annie had also called Joan names! First of all,she didn’t even do that till the final episode and we all just wondered what took her so long. She kept her composure long enough and Trump should. When she said that she was going to crush Joan and I think that was the first time I saw the humor in the situaion. Joan was calling “white trash” from the beginning with her crazy rantings and she and Melissa were like the two spoiled rich whining girls on the playground. I would rather bring my daughter up with the qualities of a female with an ego and business savvy instead of the crazy emotional trashy mouth of Joan. Trump told King that there ratings were sky high, but that was only because we wanted to see Annie(or anyone besides Joan win).If the new season had started the next day, he would have seen the ratings drop. I wont be watching Apprentice next season. He treated Annie so badly compared to the others. His compliments to her were so few compared to how he overly complimented the others. I think he’s probably afraid of that type of woman. He’s lost my respect.
I think that the biggest losers here were Joan and Melissa. They make their living off tv. You can’t take back all those priceless recorded moments. Melissa will be known forever for that idiotic tantrum that a spoiled 3-yr-old would have been ashamed of, and then even saying she wasn’t embarrassed by it. Really??? On what planet might that be considered normal behavior? Then there were the totally vicious, over-the-top tirades of Joan. I had flashbacks to another Joan – anybody remember “Mommy, Dearest”? How could she have been in entertainment for 40 years and have only one celeb willing to show up when she called? The d**m show is taped in New York => it’s clear that other entertainers wouldn’t walk across the street to give her a hand. That speaks volumes. Obviously her fan club is limited to Melissa. They both came across as completely unbalanced, hateful women. I don’t see how they can possibly resurrect any sort of tv career for themselves after this debacle.
Moma, your delerious. Who cares anymore about Trumps approval.
Annie – You Rock – You should have won.
Suzi:
Kevin Barry gave me some great, albeit unsolicited, advice in this blog — I have gotten way to hooked in to this blog. It was fun.
To this blogging community: Please accept my sincerest apologies. Just having fun. Trying to add a measure of value. Enjoyed everyone’s thoughts — even the ones I disagree with.
A final thought: It is always about our individual choice(s). Not just in regards to CA, but everything.
Perhaps we should remind ouselves from time-to-time that we are free to choose.
Free to choose.
God bless you, Annie. Everyone take a look at Refugees International website.
Free to choose! Choose wisely.
Ciao.
Ford
P.S. I have never seen one human truly change another’s mind via yelling, screaming, name-calling.
I have seen reasonable people disagree often, and via an adult-adult dialogue(Dr. Eric Berne’s Transactional Analysis) explaining logically and listening intently, I have seen people come together more often. Not always, but when it makes sense.
Annie, you did the best job by far, and The Donald changed the rules to his liking. I can smell a rat a mile away, and this finale stunk to high heaven. It was obviously fixed for Joan to win. You played by the rules every contestant has had up follow until your finale; then the criteria was changed to suit whomever wished for ‘Joan’ to win. I was so transparent and lame. I’ve never been so disgusted with a show in my life, and feel we all were ‘played.’ I will not be watching CA again, since now I know Mr. Trump’s integrity can be compromised, and he won’t make his own words stick. “I hate quitters.” “You raised the most money – therefore (fill in the name) you’re the new Apprentice” “You won the most tasks, or were the top PM” On and on. I can’t believe he called out Jesse for calling Dennis ‘stupid’ – yet never berated Joan or Melissa for all the venom they slung. However, congratulations on a job well done; I am still fuming you didn’t win. Guess I’m on tilt.
Ford, I am going to miss your logical posts!
The Bachelorette starts Monday. I love Jillian however, it is a Mark Burnett production.
I am choosing to no longer be robbed of other things we could be doing as a family.
annie, you won this thing hands down girl!
when i started watching the show, i was not sure if i liked you or not, by the end of the show, i loved you, you played the better game, you raised the most money, you should have won and in our eyes you did, the only problem was that the donald had this planned from the get-go, it was so apprarent. joan and melissa were mean, vile, and totally threatened by you….joan..a role model? to who?…people in prison?….you were
classy, and played a superior game by bringing in the most money, and winning every task..i know your family and friends are so very proud of you. i would embarrassed to be related to or a friend of joan…..how you kept it together at the end was a true test of your classiness…
donald would not let you get in a word when you were trying to explain how the event planners
quit, how frustrating! yet you kept your composure…..i would have told joan to shut the f up if it were me…everything she said to you and about you, she was really desribing herself.
And then the puppet-faced old lady had the audacity to hug you at the end….what?…gimme a break…joan rivers…..she’s a piece of work…
in closing….maybe you should have your
“low-life poker playing friends” boycott all trump casinos…i am sure over the years they have brought alot of money into his establishments…
way to go annie!
you are one class act!
Here is what the CA Poll now shows…
Did Trump make the right decision?
Yes, Joan won three of five categories in the final challenge.36 %
Yes, Joan was more respected and loved as a leader.38 %
No, Annie was clearly the better player.25 %
They were both great; Trump should have named co-winners.1 %
How could that change in a couple of hours from the 87% who voted that Annie should have won????
You know Kevin, you start to make good points and blow it.
Did Joan raise more money? (I guess we’ll keep coming back to this.) While they clearly stated this was not the ultimate criteria, it was certainly the only objective criteria, and the one that has been weighted more heavily in prior seasons (is it not the basis on which Piers won last season?) AND is supposed to be the whole point of the show. And your argument that you would just fill out a form is silly, as I’m sure you know. Again, on any rational grounds, Annie outperformed Joan. The only area Joan objectively outperformed Annie is in branding, which is what Kodak liked. If we look at the 5 criteria (fundraising, charity integration, branding, celebrity attendance and “fun”) then, from an objective standpoint Annie won 2 (I would still argue Annie’s celebrity attendance was superior to Joan’s-Joan had Kyle McLachlan and Kathy Griffin-Annie had Joe Frazier, that other boxer (not a celebrity to me, but is to other people apparently, since Trump knew who he was) and several poker players) but at worst, this should have been a tie) and Joan won 1, 2 if you give her “fun” which, since there was no objective criteria for establishing this (such as filling out a form by the guests), was clearly intended to give Trump an out to choose whomever he desired. There is simply no objective way one can say Joan outperformed Annie. There is nothing, apart from branding, that Joan did better than Annie and several where Annie clearly outperformed Joan.
I have to ask this too, since I wondered it as I watched the show: why didn’t Annie contact Guy Laliberte? Cirque du Soleil was a significant factor in the last event and Guy is a poker player, so why didn’t she contact him? I wonder if he was prohibited from getting personally involved? When I heard Cirque was involved, I thought that gave Annie a clear advantage.
As for debate, yes, you would lose points for it being an emotional charged analogy that detracts from the point of your argument. That’s why emotionally charged arguments are ineffective (in a debating environment; in a rhetorical environment, they can certainly be effective), i.e. they distract and thereby detract from your argument. As for the rest of your point, Joan’s comment does, in fact, compare Annie to Hitler; it does not simply point out that appearances can be deceiving. The point (in my response) is NOT that appearances are NOT deceiving. The point is that this was NOT what Joan was pointing out with her comments. She went further by saying “Annie is nice in the same way Hitler was nice”, and THIS does NOT counter the view that appearances can be deceiving, even though appearances certainly CAN be deceiving. Your conclusion is certainly valid, i.e. that appearances can be deceiving, what is invalid is your claim that Joan’s remark makes this point in a legitimate and/or effective way. There is no excuse for the comments Joan made. It’s one thing to seek to win and quite another to demean another person in order to win. Joan chose the latter path and was rewarded for it. I, and many others apparently, are disgusted by this fact. I, and many others apparently, don’t find it justifiable to demean someone in order to win a contest. Psychological manipulation is fine, it’s what poker is about and Annie excels at this. Personally demeaning another person is not fine.
I’m also sorry, but in today’s society, poker players are celebrities. This is why they get invited to do TV shows, e.g. Best Damn Poker Challenge and, do I have to say it?, Celebrity Apprentice. Not all poker players are celebrities of course, but the top ones are. For you to deny this is flabbergasting.
And here is where you blow your argument completely. The claim that Joan’s behavior caused the event planner to quit is far from baseless. It is what the show portrayed and is, in fact, what the event planner states. There are numerous links to the event planner’s comments on this all over the place. I would suggest you go listen to his comments. The event planner was overwhelmed? Ridiculous. THAT is a baseless comment.
As for your comment neither of us could have accomplished what they did, fully granted. I am far younger than Joan and haven’t got a fraction of her energy, and Annie’s performance was outstanding. I could never match it. I fail to see what this has to do with anything, however?
PS I not Ford, apparently, am the one with too much time on my hands, since I spend an unjustifiable amount of time responding to these things.
you played a game with the utmost skill and professionalism. you’re the winner in my book!
You should of won!! Don’t know why Mr. Trump picked Rivers, who is so nasty, rude and a bully. Her daughter is the same. They are sooo plastic! I’m proud the way you handled yourself in front of Joan and everyone! You are a true lady. I was so angry about the ending of the show that I will never watch it again. I think they should cancel it! It was probably rigged!
Good Luck to you! Love watching you and your brother play poker.
Nancy
This just goes to show that this is a popularity contest. Trump has a history with Joan and is more interested in status and keeping her group of friends in his circle. If anyone else would have referred to him as ‘Donald’ instead of Mr. Trump, they would have been fired. Joan controlled the boardroom, not Mr. Trump….as Annie was saying in the finale, right before Joan cut her off again.
