B/c I live in a locale where there are no casinos (sheesh, Texas), I mainly play on-line and do fairly well. I've never been to Vegas and not at leasted cashed in a tourney (granted, I am playing $65 buy-ins at the Paris tourneys, but still!). My first ever WSOP trip was disastrous! First, I buy into event #1 and play w/o ever realizing that - hey, I need to be an employee! No matter as I donk out fairly quickly. At any rate, I then proceeded to play several satellites (9 of them to be exact) and failed to cash in one. I was wondering if you'd do a blog entry on how to overcome such losing streaks and bankroll management. My goal is to play poker full time, but it's tough to do without any casinos around and it's tough to convince family that maybe this trip was an aberration. Thoughts? Who knew the 'mafia' would consist of such handsome men! Oops, forgot intelligent too. I grew up watching sports. Never had seen a poker game and don't think I could play. Euchre is more my style. I have to say I love watching poker. I love watching the 'wheels' turning in the players' minds as they think things through. I think I now know more poker players (yep, first and last names) than I do pro players playing the more traditional sports. I’m sitting here giggling at Julie’s comment. I'm use to the one table, dinning room atmosphere. I get distracted with side conversation at the table. I don't know if I could handle even a small room with several tables at a tournament.
