+What a Mothers Day!
Yes…I know it is May 17th and Mothers Day was on May 10th but I was busy with something else on May 10th. Interestingly enough, on May 10th after losing the Celebrity Apprentice, one of the reporters in the Red Carpet line asked me, ‘Don’t you think it is appropriate that Joan won on Mothers Day?” I can only assume one of two things about that reporter: a) she had not done any research on me so had no idea I have 4 kids or b) she was not the sharpest tool in the box. I am still not sure which but I am guessing b). Anyway, my response was, “Um. I have 4 children and I have a mother who happens to be in the audience as well.” Insert incredibly snarky tone when uttering that sentence! I mean, seriously, I was already kind of annoyed at losing but that was really an insert needle and twist moment as all I could think was, “I missed Mothers Day with my kids for this?’
My kids did send me this utterly cute video last Sunday.
My kids are pretty damn awesome so they gave me a pretty great make up Mothers day today. This morning at 8 am they all came in singing Happy Mothers Day to You and each of them gave me cards and gifts. Leo gave me a necklace, which of course I am wearing right now. Lucy gave me a bracelet (wearing that also). Nelly gave me flowers. Maud gave me a Yoga Mat carrier (pretty damn thoughtful since I do yoga every day). My favorite quotes from the cards: Maud in inimitable 14 yr old style said “Happy Mothers Day for giving birth to me and stuff” lol. Nelly’s card read, “Dear Mom, The best gift I could ever have is thinking of you on Mothers Day.” Who knew a 7 year old could say something so heartbreakingly awesome?
After the whole gift presentation ceremonies I went off to yoga then we all went off to The Griddle where we feasted on pancakes in an awesome display of screw it it’s Mothers day who needs to eat healthy today? I shared Nelly’s pumpkin pie pancakes and Leo’s Oreo pancakes. Smartly I only ordered a side of ham for myself.

Oreo Pancakes!
After breakfast I got the best Mothers Day gift of all: A nap! Yes folks, I got to nap for 2 hours this afternoon…that was a huge luxury. Dinner tonight is Fogo de Chao because the gluttony of the day wouldn’t be complete without it. Plus it is my kids favorite restaurant and isn’t that what Mothers Day is really about?
Annie,
My 7-year-old set up an elephant-size Mr. Bigweld domino maze spelling out “Mom” the living room floor for me. That was the best gift yet.
You deserved to win. Joan’s fortitude in show biz swayed things.
If you ever want to go into business, I’d take you as my partner any day.
xo
anne bocci
Yeah! I am glad you got to spend time with your kids and enjoy some MMMMMMMM pancakes!!
Annie you are the best. If i was only 40 years younger….
Whats that reporters question supposed to mean? Did they forget your a mother? You should’ve won that you were definately better then the other celebrities and they were better then joan. I don’t think i’ll be playing at the taj anymore after that episode maybe if I satelitte into the uspc but probably not even that i’ll probably follow everyone else to the harrahs and boyd casinos.
I said on watkinsons blog comments on cardplayer.com that at least you can still have charity tournaments on ultimate bet or i’m sure you can even get one at a casino like harman did for the spca.
I said contacted trumptaj.com and said “say goodbye to the uspc after that decision”.
Well good luck in the wsop haven’t seen you at a tv final table in a while.
You are the best Annie, you deserve it.
I still say “You should have won Anne!” Now that I’ve got that out of my system AGAIN (deep breath), I would like to say that I think it is wonderful that you got the chance to spend time with your kids for Mothers Day this weekend, and great, what your kids had a chance to do with and for you. Thank you for the example you showed them when you left the Celebrity show with dignity (not like some people when they lost – won’t say any names).
hey annie. that sounds like a great blated mother’s day celebration. i didn’t do much last week and i was kinda pissed off, but maybe i can make it up and do something special for my mom. i saw the video link from twitter. it was really funny!
anyways don’t mind joan and the others. stay awesome.
go magic!!!!
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
That is super…. Mother’s day can be celebrated any day. Kids and the things they do .. make life so special. You are right to appreciated all that you have and share this special Mother’s Day blog and your day with all of us. Thanks.
My son, Rowdy, always tells me that I’m the best mom in the “whole live world.” (He’s always coming up with his own expressions.) That’s what it’s all about though! Glad you had a happy Mother’s Day celebration!
From another mom of 4–Happy mother’s day!! I’m green–you got a nap!! I miss sleep.
Oops!! Meant to say that I was green with envy–see what happens when your sleep deprived!! Annie you rock!!
Good Job kids. Sounds klike an awesome day, I ‘m glad.
Fogo de chao?
Hi Annie,
We just watched the apprentice tonight. I’m glad you said what you said about “if this were a real office.” I wish we could know what goes on behind the scenes but from the looks of it, if it were a real office, trump would have several lawsuits on his hands, from harassment to discrimination, and probably a few things in between.
It’s amazing how everyone bows and jumps in his presence. The most he’s a role model for is workplace dysfunction. He’s got a huge ego and a bunch of codependents working for him. Looks like a great place to work.
Anyway, we wish you all the best. Don’t let this Hollywood stuff go to your head, and keep your true friends around. You never know when you’ll need em.
The Kevins, Dans, Micheles, Mindies et al who post here and say Annie was two faced and a backstabber demonstrate one fact: it is foolish to expect people to be rational.
Sounds like a Fabulous Mothers Day ! Your kids sound great , I had a great Mothers Day also..
Plz add me on Twitter, I love your posts ! I’m
Keytapper247 .. thanks much , take care
Annie, you and Joan BOTH made a lot of nasty remarks about each other (ok, Melissa too) but you lost fair and square–get over it and move on!
Congrats, I’m very happy to hear about this mom of the year thing. It’s so good to hear that you’re not left down and that you’re already back on your feet after the bad beat you took on C.A.
Lets add that not only are you a great mom but you have awesome children AND fans.
This has got to be a great year for you and your kids. Keep doing it!
Just watched the final and Annie your awesome. You did great throughout the entire show and carried yourself with class. After that experience, I hope you get a chance to take long vacation. My recommendation is to go to leave the country and go to somewhere where they haven’t seen the show yet. I recommend going to Australia, their 6 at least 6 months behind us in the getting their t.v. programs. A 3 day Sail boating excursion around the Whitsunday islands is dope. Or maybe check out Noosa Heads which is an eclusive beach just north of Brisbane. I should go to sleep, but I play poker and I respect you.
Interesting piece in today’s Wall Street Journal: “Trump on Trump: Testimony Offers Glimpse of How He Values His Enpire.”
According to the article Donald Trump is suing the author of a book because the author has estimated his net worth at a much lower number that what he would like the public to perceive.
A little confusing to me that this is even an issue. Seems to me the easy answer if that if this is really an important issue, engage valuation experts to value your empire and release the information, along with the valuation to the public at least certifying that DT’s net worth is estimate at (fill in the blank) _______ as of (date).

So sweet… Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Didn’t see or hear the reporter but my guess would be that he/she was thinking of a different definition of ‘mother’ when saying it was appropriate that JR won on Mother’s Day.
What really flabbergasts me is that there really could be people out there that believe JR didn’t cross the line and could or . . gulp . . . should be considered a role model.
I think you did yourself and your family proud in so many ways.
One sidenote to this: I wouldn’t get too excited about the ‘I, I, I’ BS the duo was pushing. If I had the kind of successes that you were having, I would have been saying the same things and more. And, if people were honest, they would too. We just don’t have cameras documenting our every move. Add to that the successes were taking place outside of your normal profession . . . yep, I’d be doing the ‘I,I,I,me,me,me’ thing in spades
I saw the pumpkin and Oreo pancakes on your Twitter site. Yummy! Glad that things are “back to normal” and that you and the kids (and Joe!) seem to be doing great. BTW, you looked beautiful in the dress that you wore at the Game Show Awards! (I think it’s a dress…??…I could only see the top half from your Twitter page). Take Care, Annie.
Oh my gosh!! get over it sore loser.
Well I think where all the I I I Is came from, and correct me if I am wrong Annie, is that Annie studied the game pretty well and knew what she was getting into when she went there. And many times felt to make sure things got done she had to do more than all the others and that things were going in the right direction. Overall, based on the number of task wins and task wins as PM she did very well with or without the help from others. I bet if those others who were complaining were really excited and bringing some value to the table they could have done a lot more during the tasks. Now if Annie had to do more to win, and this ticked off other players, then obviously these other players would not give her any credit, and therefore she gave herself credit.
Also, everyone on there talks behind other’s backs. Joan did it nearly every show when giving the side interviews. I think people might have been annoyed at first by the I I I Is and then began putting Annie down in a very negative way because they knew they could not beat her.
I am a pretty average guy and I would hate to be put in a position like that where you are around so many with big heads. I am sure that I would not be myself 100% of the time.
And stepping back and looking at you Annie, you definitely got it going on. You have 4 beautiful children, you are very healthy and strong, you compete against the best of the best in poker, you get to spend more time with your family overall, you do a lot for charity, etc. In my mind you were the biggest celebrity of the Celebrity Apprentice and thy were lucky to have you and I am sure the charities were really glad to have someone like you bringing in the huge amounts of donations you were able to bring in.
Maybe if there is another Celebrity Apprentice again one day they will invite another poker player and the whole community, casinos, online casinos, etc sponsor the person to help bring in over a million.
Take care
Annie, I think that you have studied the game very well. I think that you have watched every season before you came to the game
you are very good in this game
I know that you took it so hard after you lost
I understand how your feeling!
The event planner said that Joan rivers was not a good human being!
However, you always become the winner!
This show is about TV rating!
Hope to hear you soon!
You did great annie enjoy your family!
You are better off not being tied to Trump.
He is losing his branding power.
Take care the pancakes look good my girls would love em!
Funny thing about some people – like “Reality Chick” and “Chelle” who are commenting here and telling you to move on – they’re the ones who seem incapable of moving on!. I mean there is nothing in the current blog post beyond the statement about the ignorant reporter there is nothing in this post about Celebrity Apprentice. Yet here THEY are the ones saying “get over it and move on!” and “Oh my gosh!! get over it sore loser.” Annie, you have gotten over it – they haven’t!
you LOST!!!! and for good reason. Now, get OVER IT and move on. You’ve had your 15 minutes – actually more and I’m quite tired of it.
Bill..
If you are “tired of it,” then why are you here? What a silly little thing you are. You do realize you are on Annie Duke’s personal blog site right? Poor thing I think you need to go back to the batty old crones website or perhaps find some other source of entertainment like QVC. Both would be mindless and drole and perhaps perfect for you.
MAYBE?
Bill would like to even wear some of Joan’s
jewelry. Especially since it’s all supersize.
QVC is a click away do you have an account?
Bill, If your TIRED Go take a nap!
Annie,
Perhaps the best Mothers Day present you could have gotten was stepping back and realizing what wonderful children you and your husband have raised. All through C.A. you were a shining example of class and integrity and more importantly, some day you can show that episode to your kids as an example of how to act in the face of adversity. On the other hand, look at your competitors….a classless daughter taking after the example of her equally classless mother….not that you need it, but just looking at that pair…and then stepping back and looking at your family should be all the justification you need for the way you acted. Trump may have picked his crony as the “winner”…but truth be told, the way you carried yourself, there was ONLY one winner in that encounter…the one and only…ANNIE DUKE !!…as a parent, I salute you as a shining example of what a fine parent and human being should be…congrats Annie !!
Bill is a Nazi. Bill is worse than Hitler. Bill would spit on the floor and drown his own mother in it.
Not that I mean any of that in a bad way.
HAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!
STEVE, pom, poms up and down! ROTFLMAO!
I hope he (Bill) doesn’t take it wrong you did mean it as a joke right!!!?
Steve you have lots of energy for your age too… Your a role model for all of us.
You have such a big heart.
Happy Mothers Day! I know I am late posting comments too, but I was busy graduating College! I am proud of how ya did on Apprentice and the hell with Rivers! You are awesome, and I hope you really enjoyed your make up mothers day! You are so cool and you so deserve a day dedicated to you as a mother, so once again, Happy Belated Mothers Day, you rock, and as I told my mom, a kid’s love of their mom is one that is genuine throughout and lasts forever, NO one ever takes your place, we make ya smile, we make ya mad, lol, and we make ya proud everytime we can, but more than all that there will never be a more important woman in a kid’s life than their mom, Happy Mothers Day Annie, God bless you and your family!
Would you people stop dwellinh on the Apprentice? It’s just a show, move on.
