Catching up: A big announcement, a new book, and more --- Tuesday, May 3, 2022

Tuesday, May 3, 2022 E-Newsletter

Dear Readers:

I paused this newsletter a bit ago because of several new projects in the works that have absorbed all my attention. Today, I’m super excited to share some details about a few of these projects. I’m also thrilled to get this newsletter going again on a more regular basis.

I recently completed writing my newest book, Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away, which is available for pre-order now, with an official release date of October 4, 2022. While I was promoting my last book, How to Decide, in the fall of 2020, I was recording a bunch of podcasts. There is about a page and a half on the topic of quitting in that book and I kept finding myself pushing the conversations to that topic.

I became obsessed.

I started reaching out to people in academics, business, sports, and, really anyone who would talk to me, to hop on zooms and explore all things quitting. I sold the proposal in February and have been deep in it ever since. October can’t come fast enough!

Not surprisingly, as I send out new editions of the newsletter, you will see the theme of quitting running through them…I am still as obsessed as I was back in October of 2020.

I am also super excited to share with you that this November, I am launching a live, one-week cohort-based course on Making Better Decisions with Maven. This live class will be an online course. I’ll be teaching my top mental models for reducing bias, making better educated guesses and decision under uncertainty, and a lot more.

If you want to be the first to know more about this course, sign up here:

Also in this newsletter, I have included a little of what I’ve been reading, some podcasts I’ve been on recently, and other tidbits of information I thought you might find interesting. I’ll be in touch again soon!
